Luminaria are candles inside a sand-weighted paper bag. These decorations are used to line sidewalks and cast a warming glow on Christmas Eve. USC neighborhoods have many families who purchase luminaria, and it is delightful to walk and drive through these areas with their front lawns glowing in the winter crispness.
The kits we offer contain 12 long-burning candles, paper bags, and sand. Luminaria cost $8 per kit for orders placed before 10/31, and $10 per kit for orders 11/1 – 12/5. Customers can also purchase assembled kits on 12/10 for $10.
The Luminaria Committee handles advanced orders for the kits. Look for order forms in USC Today, The Almanac and on the USCBPA website among other places so you can enjoy a candle-lit walkway. If you would like multiple order forms to pass out to your neighborhood or homeowner’s association, please contact Rich.
